Jobbie Nooner, the “Mardi Gras of the Midwest”, is the ultimate annual Summer festival.

Around 60,000 to 100,000+ people attend Jobbie Nooner every year.

The concept is simple: if a girl shows you her boobs, you give her a necklace of beads.

The main attractions at Jobbie are beautiful boats, beautiful women, and hanging out with friends.

JobbieCrew.com’s “Wheel of Destiny”

Jobbie has become a rite of passage.

It is one of the greatest celebrations of boats and female beauty.

Jobbie Nooner 2015

A “Rite of Passage” is a ritual event that marks your transition from one stage to another, it usually involves water.

You will see everything at Jobbie Nooner. Hot topless honeys doing jello shots, girls making out with each other, going down on each other, you will see more topless women in one single day than you’ll see in the rest of your life.

Jobbie Nooner 2014

Jobbie Nooner is consensual fun.

There is no coercion, girls are not forced to get topless or do anything they don’t want to do.

Girls act on their own free will and volition.

This makes for some excellent and memorable uncensored fun on the high seas of Lake St. Clair!

Jobbie Nooner 2013

This event is not about disrespecting women. It’s about celebrating how beautiful all the ladies are!

All women are beautiful! Yes, ALL of you ladies!

Also, this is NOT about disrespecting law enforcement.

The cops have their hands full every day dealing with goofy dipshit assholes. So please, don’t add to their aggravation.

Just respect the ladies, respect the cops, respect each other and let’s all drink some beer, enjoy these events and have some fun!

Jobbie Nooner 2015

Jobbie Nooner is centered around tiny Gull Island at the mouth of the South Channel in Lake St. Clair.

Several rings of boats line up in circles around the island. The water is shallow enough that you can walk around in it and you can walk on the island, what’s left of it.

The party starts at 6am.

You want to get there as early as possible to get a good spot!

We say that “prime time” is from 11am-4pm.

Every year we find that 4pm is “testosterone hour”. The drinks take hold by this time, people’s untethered boats start drifting into the channel, etc.

Many people pack up and leave by 6pm.

Lee O’Dell and Lee Wagner the two that started it all!

The first Jobbie Nooner was held Friday, June 28th, 1974 at Strawberry Island in Lake St. Clair, about two-miles Northeast of Gull Island.

“Jobbies” (ie: independent contractors) Lee O’Dell and Lee Wagner and 15 of their fellow jobbies from Modern Engineering (Minnesota Street, Madison Heights) “pulled a Nooner”, they took off work early and hit the water to celebrate Lee Wagner’s birthday.

Jobbie’s are freelance automotive engineers, draftsmen, blueprinters, independent contractors.

Billy Fritts, a fellow draftsman at Entech, came on the scene about 1979-80.

The party was a nameless gathering of drunkards until Fritt’s named it “Lee & Lee’s Jobbie Nooner”.

Billy Fritts is also the one who moved the party to Gull Island to help accommodate the larger crowds.

Located five nautical miles offshore in a jurisdictional gray area between the USA and Canada, Gull Island is Michigan’s mini-Atlantis. And as far as you’re concerned…it’s another dimension.

Gull Island is a man-made island comprised of dredged dirt and sand.

It was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers over a period of time from 1937 to 1967.

The island is actually about 137 acres.

Gull Island Lake St Clair

However, due to high water levels, all but 19 acres are submerged.

The actual ownership of Gull Island is disputed.

Gull Island is technically legally owned by the Native American Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma.

However, Clay Township and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers also both claim the island, thus there are 3 claims to the ownership of Gull Island.

The island currently features a 35-foot tall U.S. Border Patrol security camera towerwith a 360-degree surveillance camera. This camera was put on the island in December 2009.
