Saugatuck Nudist Art Colony of 1949 (Loomis Dean)

Saugatuck is a beautiful city of the west side of Michigan.

The Oxbow School of Art was founded here in 1910. It is a satellite campus of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).

Oxbow is an artist colony on 115 acres in Saugatuck, the “Cape Cod of the Midwest.

Photographer Loomis Dean took these photos in July 1949 for Life Magazine.
