Port Clinton is known as the “Walleye Capital of the World“.
The Annual Main Street Port Clinton Walleye Festival takes place at picturesque Waterworks Park on the shores of beautiful Lake Erie in Port Clinton, Ohio.
The MSPC Walleye Fest is the city’s largest fundraiser, bringing in about $3.8 million annually and 75% of the operating budget for the chamber of commerce.
It features an array of free live concerts, Kids Fishing Derby, Grande Parade, educational programs and activities, carnival rides, and more than 100 vendors from around the nation, help make this event one of Ohio’s premier outdoor weekend celebration.
And yes, Wylie Walleye, the 20-foot, 600-pound fiberglass mascot of Port Clinton, will be there.
