Betting on drone races could be the future of gambling.
The newly-formed Drone Racing League is backed by $12 million dollars in funding from people like billionaire Stephen Ross (RSE Ventures), Detroit’s Dan Gilbert (Courtside Ventures), CAA Ventures (the venture capital arm of CAA talent agency) and more.
The concept is simple: custom-built quadcopter drones race 120mph thru an obstacle course of checkpoints. Drone Pilots control the drones via headsets and controllers. Droniacs salivate and spectate from the sidelines. Whoever has the most points wins.
Drone Gambling has already started in Detroit.
