Next to the Kentucky Derby, the annual Breeders’ Cup World Championships is one of the greatest events in Thoroughbred horse racing.
The event is held in a different city each year.
There are 14 races and the various prize monies total $30 million dollars.
The most important race of the Breeders Cup is the $6 million dollar Breeders Cup Classic.
It’s a 1 1/4 mile run, featuring 14 of the world’s top Thoroughbred horses (3+ years or older) and the winner gets $6mil.
