Celebrity chef, Andrew Zimmern, internationally famous through his show Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, where he traveled around the world exploring unusual foods and the cultures surrounding them, is coming to Michigan.
Zimmern has two important appearances Saturday, August 22.
First, he’s featured at The Grand Tasting, the festival’s marquee event at Open Space Park overlooking West Grand Traverse Bay. It runs approximately noon–4 PM depending on ticket level and features dozens of culinary participants and more than 100 local wines plus other craft beverages. Tickets range from about $157 GA to $369 VIP.
Second, comes the “Under the Northern Star: An Evening with Chef Andrew Zimmern”. This is a special 7:00–9:30 PM dinner on August 22 at Black Star Farms. And it’s already SOLD OUT. It’s designed as an intimate outdoor communal dinner among the estate’s vineyards. Zimmern is curating an interactive meal built around Northern Michigan summer ingredients, paired with Black Star Farms wines, while telling stories from his travels and discussing food and culture. The menu includes things such as poached shrimp, baby artichokes, asparagus, roasted peppers with Cantabrian anchovies, local tomato salad, seared tuna and grilled dry-aged beef sirloin.
