Heritage Auctions, the Dallas-based auction house, is one of the world’s top auction houses for pop culture memorabilia.
They are auctioning off the Ship’s Helm Wheel from the 1997 movie ‘Titanic‘.
Original Titanic ship’s wheel from the helm constructed from wood and brass. The fully-realized wheel contains ornate attention to detail including brass components accenting the (back) axel and the felloe. The brass accent along the felloe contains recessed text on both ends: “Brown’s Patent Telemotor” and “Rosebank Ironworks Edinburgh.”
The wheel measures approx. 41″ in diameter and 54″ from handle to handle. Prop contains a few minor chips in the wood, is missing the front brass axle accent, and exhibits age, studio distress, and production wear.
