March 5th is National Absinthe Day!
Absinthe was illegal in the USA from 1912-2007.
Called La Fee Verte (the Green Fairy), Absinthe can be a hallucinogenic experience if you’re drinking good absinthe.
Absinthe is a green, aniseed-flavored liquor containing anise, thujone and wormwood.
The traditional way to drink Absinthe is to melt a sugar cube over a perforated spoon, so the sugar melts into the drink, creating the “lesh” (cloudy green colored drink).
