The Sea Eagle II is the world’s largest aluminum yacht.
The 266-foot-long superyacht reportedly belongs to Taiwanese billionaire and philanthropist Dr. Samuel Yen-Liang Yin.
Built by Royal Huisman (Amsterdam, Netherlands), the project concept was first revealed at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show, as the largest Asian-owned yacht.
Nearly four years later, the launch took place at the builder’s main shed, which had to be specially extended for the project.
The superyacht was the brainchild of designer Mark Whiteley, with expertise in naval architecture provided by Dykstra Naval Architects.
The exteriors of Sea Eagle II incorporate the owner’s requirements for world cruising; featuring a half-raised bridge for inside steering that offers comfortable seating for guests who want to be near the yacht’s navigation center without sacrificing luxury.
In terms of aesthetics, the schooner features a monochrome palette that’s softened by a golden brown wooden deck.
Inside, there’s space for up to 12 guests in six staterooms and one VIP suite, plus accommodations for up to 13 crew.
The yacht touts an expansive formal dining room and lounge, an outdoor dining area and sundeck, and a hydraulic crow’s nest, which rises up the main mast to expose unobstructed ocean views.
The superyacht is also equipped with various water sports gear, including water scooters, a guest tender with dive equipment, kayaks, SUP boards, and more, all stored out of site, of course, under the aft deck.
Sea Eagle II is now heading to Royal Huisman Amsterdam to undergo sea trials and on-board crew training and is expected to be delivered to Yin by the spring 2020.
