MICHIGAN — A popular travel website picked a Michigan home as among the best vacation rentals in the nation, and surprisingly, the home is not in northern Michigan.
A lakefront home in Sand Lake, Michigan was ranked among the ten best vacation rentals in the nation by Vrbo, whose list includes some of the nation’s best waterfront homes, stunning cabin escapes and modern city stays in the country.
The west Michigan home, which sits on Baptist Lake in Sand Lake, features five bedrooms, a hot tub, a professional-grade gym, a custom sports court for basketball and pickleball games and other amenities.
Sand Lake is just north of Grand Rapids and roughly 180 miles west of Detroit. The home currently rents out for an average of roughly $990 a night.
To determine their list of the best vacation rentals across the nation, the website looked at properties with a 4.9 or higher star rating, positive guest reviews, standout amenities and spaces for spending time together with friends and family and a premier Host status.
