Detroit movie fans can watch the beloved 1987 fantasy adventure The Princess Bride on the big screen, followed by a live appearance from Westley himself.
The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening With Cary Elwes takes place Saturday, August 29, at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit.
Following a complete screening of the film, actor Cary Elwes will participate in a moderated onstage discussion about the making of the movie. Elwes, who played the heroic Westley, will share personal memories and behind the scenes stories about the production and his fellow cast members.
Released in 1987 and directed by Rob Reiner, The Princess Bride blends romance, comedy, fantasy and swashbuckling adventure into one of the most frequently quoted films of its generation.
The story journeys through the fictional kingdoms of Florin and Guilder, complete with sword fights, giants, revenge, miracles, Rodents of Unusual Size and, of course, true love.
