“Bloomfield…..where a lakehouse has a lighthouse with a guest house.”
Not So Pure Michigan is a long running comedy web series that parodies the iconic Pure Michigan tourism commercials.
Rather than showcasing Michigan’s scenic lakes, forests, and charming small towns, the series humorously celebrates the state’s less glamorous but instantly recognizable side, poking fun at everything from potholes and unpredictable weather to sports heartbreak, quirky local traditions, and regional stereotypes.
Created by Michigan filmmaker John Kerfoot, the videos have become a cult favorite among Michiganders for their affectionate, self deprecating take on life in the Great Lakes State.
