Mount Bohemia has won the top spot in USA Today’s 10Best Readers Choice Awards’ poll for Best Ski Resort.
Way up at the top of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, 9.5 hours drive north of Detroit (or you could fly into Sawyer International Airport, then it would only be a 3 hour drive), is one of the best ski resorts in the USA.
Mount Bohemia (6532 Gay Lac La Belle rd, Mohawk, MI) is known for its extreme backcountry runs and having around 300 inches average annual snowfall.
There’s a mean 900-foot vertical drop and 95 runs and be sure to hit Voodoo Mountain, as well. And they have a 2-mile long ski run.
Then, after you ski all day, get a Broken Snowboard cocktail @ the North Pole Bar, then jump in the U.P.’s largest outdoor hot tub @ the Log Cabin Italian Bistro.
Lift tickets are $68.00/person and lift hours are M-F 10:30am-4:30pm and Sat-Sun 9:30am-5pm.
