Motor City Navy Ball

The Metropolitan Detroit (METDET) Council of the Navy League of the United States puts on this tremendous annual event, the Motor City Navy Ball.

The Detroit Yacht Club’s Grand Ballroom on Belle Isle will be the center of the action.

You will also get to meet crew members of the USS Detroit.

You will get to dance to the 25-piece Swing Shift Orchestra.

Motor City Navy Ball

Main keynote speaker is Rear Admiral Fence Fenton (a native of Grand Ledge, Michigan; now he lives in Florida) who commanded the USS Denver, USS George Washington, and engaged in other important endeavors.

Fenton is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School with a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering.

Fenton also attended the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School, the Air Force Air War College, the Joint and Combined Arms Warfighting School, the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command.

The Navy League of the United States is a civilian, non-profit organization supporting the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Flag Merchant Marines as well as the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Membership is open to any civilian, veteran or reserve member of the armed forces.
