GRAND HAVEN, MI – A man was rescued in the nick of time on Memorial Day as a sailboat sank into Lake Michigan, officials said.
U.S. Coast Guard Station Grand Haven and U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City performed a daring rescue 25 miles off the coast of Grand Haven, Michigan on Memorial Day.

With help from the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan Command Center in The City of Milwaukee, the rescue teams saved a man from a sinking sailboat, moments before the vessel sank into 300’ of water.
