By joining the United States Navy you get to travel the world and make a difference.

They recruit ages 18-39. There are over 80 jobs to choose from in the Navy, including a great variety of technical jobs.

To join the Navy as an enlisted member, you usually must get a good score on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test.

How do you join?

Go to your local recruitment office, spend some time talking with a recruiter and asking questions.

You can even join while still in high school, if you’re 18 years old via the Delayed Entry Program. You graduate, your ship date comes up, you go to boot camp (Great Lakes, Illinois, for example), then go into an apprenticeship program (none in Michigan, typically in coastal areas like Florida, California, Texas, the Carolinas).

If undecided, do the US Navy Reserve, and they pay for your college.
