A recent cold snap hit Florida on January 21, 2020 and affected thousands of unprepared iguanas.

Stunned iguanas fell out of the trees, many died on impact if they hit concrete, and were quickly barbequed by hungry Floridians, which they called “chicken of the trees.”

Green iguanas can drop 40 feet to the ground and survive.

The temp was so cold it was only 40 degrees in Miami.

Florida, which is experiencing a massive iguana population boom, issued a statewide bulletin to look out for “falling iguanas“.

Iguana meat is commonly eaten in places like Mexico, Peru, and the Caribbean.

Reportedly, iguana meat does not taste like chicken but instead tastes like “Peking roast duck.”
