The annual Peter Henkel Antique & Classic Boat Parade features a ton of cool vintage boats.

What will you see? Antique and Classic boats (and replicas) built prior to 1993.

The parade starts at St. Mark’s Catholic Church and ends at Sans Souci.

After the parade rendezvous: South Channel Yacht Club.

Boat owners entering the parade must register to get a number for the starting lineup and for the parade announcements made at the Sans Souci waterfront. The deadline to register is 5pm on September 1st.

Who was Peter Henkel?

Peter Henkel is best known for his work and wisdom in antique and classic boating circles. He was an active member of the Antique & Classic Boat Society, both the Sunniland and Michigan chapters, and could be found at most regional boat shows with his runabout the Climax or another fine old Chris-Craft from his stable.

Peter Frederick Henkel of Harsens Island, Michigan, and Boca Raton, Florida, died August 13, 2001. He was 72 years old.
