Michigan’s own Greta Van Fleet will be playing 3 nights at the beautiful Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit!

The band got its name from local octogenarian Gretna Van Fleet, a resident of their hometown: Frankenmuth, Michigan.

Frankenmuth is a town originally founded by Bavarians from Germany.

Over the years, the town has morphed into a watered-down touristy commercial version of itself. Its chief distinguishing landmark is Bronner’s, the world’s largest Christmas store.

Many have derided Greta Van Fleet as a “Led Zeppelin ripoff band.”

Critics of the band say their music has gone beyond paying homage to Led Zeppelin to the point of outright theft of style.

Whatever your beliefs on the matter are, we’re just glad to hear some kickass rock-and-roll music.

Their new album, ‘Anthem of the Peaceful Army‘, debuted at:

No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums Chart

No. 3 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart

And what better place to hear rock-and-roll than in the Motor City? Come check out Greta Van Fleet at the Fox!
