The Jobbie Crew are huge fans of the Detroit Red Wings. They don’t call Detroit “Hockeytown USA” for nothing. Detroit is one of the top cities in the world for hockey fans.
If you want to be part of Detroit history, you should consider donating your Detroit Red Wings memorabilia to the new arena! The rarer and scarcer, the better. Especially stuff from Olympia, Detroit Cougars, anything pre-1970’s, etc.
Frankly, we’re not fans of the arena’s name “Little Caesars Arena.” If fact, we’re sick of corporate branding altogether. Comerica Park (Tigers), Jimmy John’s Stadium (Utica), Ford Field (Lions). We understand corporations sponsorship dollars ultimately control everything, especially political campaigns, but give it a rest! The people are sick of it!
That being said, we are very excited the Red Wings are going to have a new state-of-the art home in Detroit!
Thew new arena will be 785,000-square feet and will be up by September 2017. It’s costing $627 million dollars and will be 8-stories tall. The ice will be 40-feet below street level and the entire arena will be surrounded by Woodward Square.
