A portion of the proceeds will benefit two local groups who need assistance in their fight; Cody’s Warrior Hub and Wagner’s Warriors.
Cody’s Warrior Hub is a charity formed in honor of Mike Cody, a six year Army veteran, father, friend, and true warrior. Mike was a casualty of Colo-rectal cancer that he fought for over two years before his battle ended in early 2016 at the age of 47. His arduous journey doesn’t end here. The Hub will continue to fight cancer by raising awareness of colo-rectal cancer prevention and treatment and also help in the search for a cure. It will also raise funds for other causes that he supported such as education and music in Detroit.

Wagner’s Warriors is a group of friends raising assistance to help a local man, 35 year old Eric Wagner and his family ease their increasing financial burdens. In July of 2015 Eric was diagnosed with an extremely rare case of liver cancer. His case is the only one known for his age. While he is healthy otherwise, and a non-drinker nor does liver disease run in his family. He is considered stage 4 as the tumor has spread outside of the liver. He had undergone chemo and was in the operation room for major surgery when it was decided, last minute, that he was not a candidate for surgery at that time. This was devastating news for the family. He is currently back in chemo. He and his wife-who was his childhood pal-are raising two young boys and juggling work and his treatments and are very grateful for the help at their time of need.
