George Romero filmed ‘Dawn of the Dead‘ in 1978 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, primarily at Monroeville Mall.
Romero is known for kicking off the zombie genre of films and Dawn of the Dead is widely regarded as one of the greatest zombie movies ever made.
The original uncut 1978 theatrical version of the film has been adapted to the 3D format with no alterations to Romero’s edit.
