Corradini’s ‘Veiled Truth’

Some works of art are so incredible they inspire awe in everyone who looks at them.

All of these hipster tiktok Millennial Snowflakes fancy themselves “artistes” these days.

But back in the 1700’s, you truly had to be a master artist of the highest caliber to get recognized.

Corradini’s ‘Veiled Truth’

Veiled Truth‘ is a sculpture from the Rococo period created by Antonio Corradini. He created it over 250 years ago in 1752.

He carved this baby out of marble. Marble!

The figure represents Pudicizia (modesty). It’s a tomb monument dedicated to Cecilia Gaetani dell’Aquila d’Aragona, mother of Raimondo di Sangro, the Prince of Sansevero.

You can view it today at Sansevero Chapel Museum, Naples, Italy.
