Give your boat a little pep tomorrow!

Looking for big power, but don’t want to go to a junkyard to gut a wrecked Hellcat? Well, now you don’t have to: Mopar just unveiled the Hellcrate, a standalone 707-horsepower supercharged V8 crate just like the one that powers the meanest Challengers and Chargers.

Dodge introduced the $19,530 Hellcrate engine ahead of this year’s SEMA expo in Las Vegas. The brand-new Mopar crate engine comes complete with a three year, unlimited mileage warranty from Mopar. Dodge recommends pairing the powertrain with a Tremec Magnum six-speed manual transmission.

To get the 707-horsepower engine up and running, Mopar is also offering a $2195 engine kit with everything you’ll need: Powertrain control module, power distribution center, wiring and chassis harnesses, throttle-by-wire accelerator pedal, all the necessary sensors, and a fuel pump. According to Mopar’s press release, the PCM is unlocked, meaning you’re free to tune the 6.2-liter V8 as much as you desire.

So instead of spending more than $65,000 on a factory-built Hellcat, why not just buy the crate engine and drop it in a project car of your own? As long as you can fit it in the engine bay, anything’s possible.
