Every year in Brainerd, Minnesota, which is located about 2hrs NW of Minneapolis, some 15,000 anglers compete on Gull Lake in the world’s largest ice fishing contest!
The annual Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza offers over $150,000 in prizes and all the money they raise goes to 45 different charities.
The cost to participate is $50.00 per person and it takes place on the 250 acres of Gull Lake’s Hole-in-the-Day Bay.
Over 20,000 holes are drilled in the ice. Bring bait, ice chisel, and good luck!
This year the contest is VIRTUAL.
