In the psychedelic 1960’s, before Ann Arbor morphed into a smug town of haughty self-congratulating yuppies, it pretty much used to be Hash Bash every day on the beautiful leafy streets of Tree Town. Hippies were toking up everywhere freely.
Ann Arbor’s Hash Bash pro-marijuana festival has been going strong since 1971.
Everyone gathers at the University of Michigan’s Diag as speakers address the crowd from the steps of Harlan Hatcher Grad Library (913 S. University Ave, Ann Arbor).
Hash Bash lasts from Noon-2:00 p.m.
Afterwards, walk two blocks (5-minutes) south to the Monroe Street Fair (800 Monroe St, Ann Arbor).
Be sure to check out Dominick’s Bar (812 Monroe St) while you’re over there.
And don’t forget the 4:20pm toke-down (countdown).
Monroe Street Fair lasts from Noon-6:00 p.m.
