It is incredibly rare to find a “new” undiscovered shipwreck these days, let alone one that is completely intact.
However, a few months ago, an Ancient Roman shipwreck was found 200-feet underwater off the Balearic Islands in Spain.
The ship is 65-feet long, dates from the 5th century BC and it’s remains were covered in thousands of amphorae (old jars) carrying “garum,” a type of fish sauce, which was a popular Roman condiment.
Unaltered for almost 2,000 years, the shipwreck is currently being studied by underwater archeologists for more information.
