Over 2,000 players from 15 states and Canada will compete in Michigan’s largest 4 on 4 hockey tournament, the Annual Michigan Pond Hockey Classic on Whitmore Lake!
The MPHC features 15 rinks, each 75 ft x 150 ft, set up for non-stop 4 on 4 hockey.
Each game is 30 minutes long. There’s no off-sides or goalies.
The 10-inch thick ice manages to support the roughly 7,000 total people (players & spectators) over the three days.
To compete, each team pays $400-$500, which goes to charity.
And yes, there’s a Beer Tent on the ice! It opens at 7pm Friday and Noon on Saturday.
On Saturday, 20 select players compete in the Perani’s Hockey World Skills Competition.
Whitmore Lake is 677 acres and 69 feet deep at it’s deepest point. It’s located in the city of Whitmore Lake, Michigan.
