According to the Superior Police Department in Wisconsin, the American Spirit freighter was docked behind the McDonald’s restaurant in the port city when its air horn inexplicably began to blow around 7:30 p.m.
Numerous residents in the area immediately began to report the irritating noise, according to police. The horn continued to blow before it was stopped around 8:35 p.m.
“As you have all undoubtedly noticed the horn has been shut off,” police wrote on Facebook. “Thanks to everyone who responded so quickly to fix the issue, and thanks to everyone in East End for your patience.”
The noise could be heard as far away as Duluth, Minnesota’s lakeside neighborhood, according to WDIO-TV in Duluth.
