Duisburg, Germany is home to the world’s largest inland port, the Innenhafen (Inner Harbor). Now the city is also home to the world’s largest sandcastle!
The towering mountain of sand is 54.72 feet tall. Comprised of 3,800 tons of sand, the record was officially given by Guinness World Records.
Travel company Schauinsland-Reisen sponsored the project and the sandcastle stands in Landschaftspark (Landscape Park) until late September.
