The largest private collection of whiskey in history, the largest collection ever to go on public sale, is coming up!
Cheekily labeled ‘The Perfect Collection of Mr. Robert Gooding‘ the whiskey auction will feature 3,900 rare bottles of whiskey, primarily single malt Scotch, estimated to be worth upwards of $8 million dollars.
One of the bottles alone, the Macallan 1926 Fine & Rare 60 Year Old, currently holds the world-record for the most expensive bottle of whisky sold at $1.5 million dollars.
Whisky Auctioneer, based in Perth, Scotland, will be handling the auction.
Colorado businessman, Richard Gooding, died in 2014. He spent decades amassing this collection.
He was the former owner and president of Pepsi Bottling Co. Denver and had lived in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado.
