Once upon a time, Northern Michigan’s Torch Lake had a badass 4th of July boat party all weekend long at the Torch Lake Sandbar.
Torch Lake is about 40 minutes east of Traverse City, which is the nearest big city.

Torch Lake is one of the cleanest and most beautiful lakes in the world.
The water is so clear its like looking through plate glass.
Torch Lake is legendary for its Sandbar, which is shallow enough for people to walk around at.
As with every boat party everywhere, PLEASE be respectful of the people who live in the area. Don’t block their docks, don’t tie up to their docks, don’t walk around on their backyard properties, etc.
Just be cool and have fun.
Torch Lake is Michigan’s deepest (max depth 285 feet deep!!!) and longest inland lake.
It is also Michigan’s 2nd largest inland lake. Houghton Lake is the largest and Lake Charlevoix is the 3rd largest.
The lake is 19 miles long, 330-feet deep in the center and 2.35 miles wide.
Indians used to fish for whitefish by birch-bark torch, hence the name “Torch Lake”.

From out of town – want to get a room for the weekend – have little guys – want to get a room close to where the fireworks are going to be set off but also nice to swim play and maybe have a bombfire in the evening – any suggestions?!
