Saltwater crocodiles are up to 20-feet long, 1,000lbs. and they number in the several thousands in Australia.
1,200 hunting permits are issued per year to hunt these “salties” in order to keep their population down to a manageable level.
Hunters must select the exact croc they want to dispatch of and film the death to show authorities that it was humane.
Reportedly, tanned skins sell for up to $10,000 and skulls go for up to $3,000.
What are your thoughts on crocodile hunting in Australia? Should it be legal or illegal? Why or why not?
