For all you Pickle back junkies you can up your game this summer. Food & Wine reports that Sonic will start selling a pickle juice slush this June. The drink is a bright green and combines that sweet slushie flavor with the unmistakable blast of pickle flavor.
And once the drink hits Sonic locations, you can use the pickle-flavored syrup for anything on the menu. That means you could put it in milkshakes, sundaes, or even burgers, as long as you’re okay with possibly paying an extra charge.
“Quite simply, pickle juice is fun,” Scott Uehlein, vice president of product innovation and development for Sonic, said in a statement. “Nothing says summer like a Sonic slush and only Sonic can bring a completely on trend beverage flavor into 3,500 restaurants.”
Of course, this isn’t the first non-standard flavor you can try at Sonic. You can already find slushes with pieces of candy blended inside, lemonades and limeades in countless flavors, and ice cream flurries with ingredients like waffles and cookie dough mixed in. Pickle is definitely a bit more savory than the rest of the desserts and drinks on offer, but it probably would pair nicely alongside a burger or hot dog and some fries.
