The King Abdulaziz Camel Festival and Camel Beauty Pageant is the world’s top camel festival.
The grand prize is $66 million dollars!
Camels are judged in 19 categories. Key attributes include long, droopy lips, a big nose and a shapely hump.
This event is organized by the Saudi Camel Club.
Some 33,000 camel owners from as far away as the USA, Russia and France are participating.
As many as 100,000 tourists are also expected daily at the 12 square mile festival site, 100km (62 miles) north-east of the Saudi capital Riyadh.
In 2019, the festival featured its first Saudi female competitor, Princess Sirene bint Abdulrahman.
