Stewed black bear, jellied possum, grilled elk, quail meatballs, iguana tacos, rabbit gravy, Brain and Eggs (squirrels brains with scrambled eggs), fried turkey testicles, and more, yep, their carcasses and road-killed body parts are all being cooked here.
The annual West Virginia Roadkill Cook-Off features amateur chefs vying for best road kill chef.
Points are summarily deducted for any stray pieces of gravel, asphalt, or teeth found in the food.
The Roadkill Cook-off is part of Pocahontas County’s Autumn Harvest Festival.
In addition to square dancing and live music, the festival also features a beauty pageant where contestants compete for the Miss Roadkill crown.
Come check it out and come hungry!
