WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI – He’s one of, if not the top pickleball player in the world and he’s coming to Michigan this weekend to teach some clinics on the sport.
At just 19, James “JW” Johnson became the youngest player to win the men’s pickleball singles title.
The reigning National Singles Champion, who is now 21, is ranked 4th on the PPA Tour for doubles, 4th for mixed men’s doubles and 12th for singles.
The Johnson family: Julie (A former #1 APP Tour senior pro), Jack (Coach, instructor) and James will be at PickleRage in West Bloomfield on Saturday, Sept. 7 for two clinics.
The intermediate clinic (9am – 11am, register here) will focus on driving through forehands and backhands, mastering the 3rd shot and other skills to reach 4.0.
The advanced clinic (Noon – 2pm, register here) will discuss the pro mindset for tournament success and teach advanced shots, tactics and strategy for singles and doubles.
The clinics are free for PickleRage members and $150 for visitors. You can become a member here.
