Perani’s Hockey World (“The Toystore For The Hockey Player“) is a retail chain founded by Bob Perani.
They specialize in everything ice hockey. Indoor, outdoor along with street hockey and also lacrosse.
Bob was a native of Rome, Italy and founded Perani’s in Flint, Michigan in 1976. Bob played for a number of years as a goalie with the Flint Generals ice hockey team.
Perani’s has 18 retail locations in North America.
Their largest and best location is considered to be the Livonia Superstore (Livonia, Michigan) where they have a 40,000 square foot store, ice rink (can rent out for birthday parties), and Skate Scanner (get fitted for custom skates).
Perani’s has serviced many future professional players including Mike Modano (Livonia native and former Westland resident)- who bought his first pair of skates from the company’s Lakeland Arena store – and even at one time briefly employed former All-Star Pat Lafontaine (Waterford native) when he was a teenager.
