Lackawanna County (WOLF) — The Peckville Christmas House is officially open for the season and with over 200 decorations added this year.
The houses are owned by two brothers Matt and Jeff Harhut.
For over 25 years the Harhut’s have been showing off their love for the holiday season on Marion Street in Peckville.
“The best thing about this is seeing the smiles on the kids faces on the adults face on everybody’s face. I mean You could be 7 years old or you could be 90 years old. It doesn’t matter everybody smiles when they come through the display and that is what makes it worth every minute we put into it and and every dime that we put into it,” Matt Harhut said.
The display starts getting set up in September and costs $1,500 in electric fees to be lit every holiday season.
Stopping by the free display has become a tradition for many people in the community.
If you want to see the lights with your own eyes, they’re lit from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. throughout the week and until 10 on weekends.
They will start taking the display down on January 7th.
