ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Two popular video game streamers (and native Detroiters) are going to play Fortnite at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor to raise money for cancer research.
Brothers Tyler Blevins (Ninja) and Jonathan Blevins (BeardedBlevins) are heading to the Big House on Sept. 5.
They will host the “VictorsGO Live Family Fortnite Friday Charity Event,” streaming rounds of the popular battle royale game Fortnite, starting at 10 a.m.
“Been working on this for months,” Jonathan Blevins tweeted. “Gonna be amazing!”
“I’m HYPED to announce a special Family Fortnite Friday stream with my brother BeardedBlevins, live from the Big House on Thursday, Sept. 5,” Tyler Blevins tweeted. “We’re teaming up to raise money for cutting-edge cancer research at Michigan Medicine and the Rogel Cancer Center.”
The event will also have “some special guests and a few Big House surprises you won’t want to miss,” per the release.
The goal is to raise $1 for each seat in Michigan Stadium — a total of $107,601.
All donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by sponsors.
Michigan Medicine and the Rogel Cancer Center are working to advance research and transform cancer prevention and treatment.
“By supporting the Blevins Brothers with a gift to benefit the Rogel Cancer Center, you can advance research that has great potential to lead to more effective approaches to preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer — providing hope for patients who receive their care at U-M and countless others who benefit from these discoveries around the world,” the release says.
