The new law starts today as Michigan becomes the 10th state in the USA to legalize marijuana for recreational use.
Adults 21 and up can possess marijuana in public and can consume marijuana in private.
Smoking in public is a $100.00 citation.
It will take about one year for marijuana to become commercially available.
