That’s right, folks!
Do you want to make your dream come true and run a business in Michigan selling recreational marijuana?
You can apply for a recreational marijuana business license in the state of Michigan starting November 1st, 2019.
There is a $6,000 non-refundable application fee which the main applicant must pay.
The Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA) in Lansing, Michigan is in charge of reviewing and processing the applications.
You will undergo an extensive 2-step process. The first step is Prequalification (ie: submitting application, background check). The second step is Establishment Licensing (ie: choose the license type, then your establishment will be inspected by the MRA).
Before you do anything, make sure you have gathered all the necessary paperwork. There will be about 5 to 20 multi-page documents you need to fill out.
You will need to go online to the MRA’s Adult Use Marijuana section to register and create an online account.
At the end, you will submit the main application, any supplemental applications, then pay (either online or in-person) the nonrefundable $6,000 fee.
How they arrived at the $6,000 price point is a mystery? Probably to deter non-serious applicants.
After that, you can track the status of your application in real-time online.
Good luck!
