The Mackinac Bridge is 3,800 feet long and one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. It has the fun job of connecting the Upper and Lower peninsulas of Michigan.
The height of the Main Towers are 552 feet above the water.
The bridge can sometimes be dangerous. In 1989, Leslie Pluhar plummeted to her death when her Yugo blew off the bridge.
However, it’s mostly safe and once a year you could win a chance to tour the Main Towers.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority (MBA) holds an annual drawing every August, and randomly chooses 25 non-profit organizations to receive a tower tour certificate to be raffled or auctioned for charitable purposes.
