Thanks to Mlive for this:
They love the raspy tone of her voice, but was it enough to send her into the third round of the hit NBC singing competition?
19-year old Iris Herrera, from Newaygo, Michigan, north of Grand Rapids, performed Lizzy McAlpine’s “Ceilings” with and against Simone Marijic in the Battle Round of “The Voice,” airing on Monday, March 24.
We first met Herrera when she performed “You Are My Sunshine” by Pine Ridge Boys for her Blind Audition on the season 27 premiere February 3.
Herrera auditioned last season, but did not receive a chair turn from any of the coaches. This time, three coaches turned and she chose to be Kelsea Ballerini’s first team member.
Tonight, it would be up to Ballerini to choose who to send into the next round following the performance.

“Iris, your voice has this wonderful kind of grit,” said Michael Bublé after tonight’s Battle. “There’s this depth to it that I love. ”Your voices sounded so good together.”
Ballerini chose Iris as the winner of the Battle, sending her to the next round, the Knockouts. “I chose Iris because she really knows her voice and knows how to use it to show how unique she is.”
And it’s not the end for Marijic as Bublé used his only steal on her.
Herrera wasn’t the only Michigan singer on this season of “The Voice.” 28-year old Braxton Garza from Adrian, Michigan landed on Bublé‘s team, but lost to Jadyn Cree in the Battle Round last week.
