The Frankenmuth ChristKindlMarkt, a European-style open-air Christmas market, returns to the Frankenmuth Farmers Market.
The farmers market grounds, located at 534 N. Main St., will be decorated for the season with sparkling lights and a 30-foot-tall Christmas tree.
Guests can shop for unique gifts, enjoy local food and live music and visit Santa Claus.
Christkindlmarkt, or weihnachtsmarkt, is a European tradition widely celebrated in cities such as Nuremberg, Frankfurt and Munich.
The event takes place Friday through Sunday. The market is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is free.
In addition, the farmers market’s gathering barn will once again be transformed into the “Christmas Town Pub” offering hot food, sweet treats, beer, pop, hot cocoa and glühwein, a traditional German hot spiced wine. Menu items will include Frankenmuth flavors and brands, such as Willi’s Sausage Co.’s grilled bratwurst, chicken noodle soup made with Frankenmuth chicken and farmers market veggies, and Christmas Town Ale from Frankenmuth Brewery.
