This will be a mildly epic Wednesday night:
1) A showing of “Dope, Hookers, and Pavement” by OTTO BUJ. This film inspects the Detroit hardcore punk scene of the 1980s, centered around a venue called The Freezer Theater (3958 Cass Ave, Detroit) in the notorious Cass Corridor.
2) A live interview with TESCO VEE by the Director, Otto Buj. Tesco was frontman of The Meatmen, founder of Touch and Go fanzine and record label…and is not known for being PC. Otto describes his Q&A intention as “A coffee klatsch with Tesco Vee, the founding father of Detroit hardcore punk — reflecting on the humble beginnings of Touch and Go fanzine and records, The Meatmen and what can still be considered funny in 2023”.
3) Live music by:
THE BOREOUTS: J. Navarro (Suicide Machines/The Traitors/Hellmouth), Ko Melina (The Dirtbombs), John Bunkley (Gangster Fun), Rob Paul (Ferndale Radio).
PINK SPIT: Johnny LZR (Human Eye), Nick Lloyd (The Dirtys/Radio Burns), Sean Shea (Find Familiar/Macramé Tiger), Doug Dietrich (Bad Magnets/The Sunburns), Nick Cicchetti (Radio Burns/Millions of Brazilians/Racehorses are Resources).
