In the wake of Quentin Tarantino mid-90s American cinemas were brimming with pulp—gritty crime stories reaching back to the genre tales of the past – updating them for a flashier modern style.
Desperado fit right in there, telling a timeworn “stranger comes to town” tale with a manic sense of pacing and a relentless focus on action.
