One of the biggest poker runs in the USA, the annual Boyne Thunder Poker Run, starts at Moore Municipal Marina in beautiful Boyne City, Michigan.
Over 100+ high-performance boats will zip around the lakes across a 150-mile long course at speeds of over 140+ mph, while thousands of spectators enjoy the show.
A “poker run” is where you have to hit several checkpoints and snag a playing card at each one. The best poker hand at the end of the run wins.

Boyne Thunder Poker Run’s OFFICIAL ROUTE:
Port stops of Boyne City, Charlevoix, Northport, Elk Rapids, Harbor Springs, Bay Harbor, and Horton Bay. Leaving Boyne City, boats will head down Lake Charlevoix to beautiful Charlevoix.
Once out on Lake Michigan, the course will go south for card stops at Elk Rapids and Northport, then return to the City of Charlevoix Marina for lunch in beautiful downtown Charlevoix.
The Poker Run continues after lunch with cards stops in Harbor Springs and Bay Harbor in Little Traverse Bay, then returns to Lake Charlevoix for the final card stop at Horton Bay. The poker run concludes with a reception at beautiful Sommerset Pointe Yacht Club.
There’s also “Stroll the Streets” in Downtown Boyne City, on Saturday there’s the Champagne Cruise on Lake Charlevoix, the raft-off in Horton Bay, and more! Plus, all the money goes to Camp Quality to help kids with cancer!
