The annual Above & Beyond Awards Ceremony, “A Blue Tie Affair”, honoring Detroit Police, Fire and EMS, will take place at the beautiful Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center.
The signature event hosted by the Detroit Public Safety Foundation recognizes Detroit Police Officers, Firefighters and EMS personnel for going “Above & Beyond” the call of duty.
Recipients receive the Medal of Valor for their bravery and service in the face of great danger. The Purple Heart Award is given to those who were injured or killed in the line of duty, making at times the greatest sacrifice in service for others. The Emergency Medical Merit Award is for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) division to honor members for exceptional service.
