The Ancient Artifact Preservation Society (AAPS) exists to collect and preserve evidence of ancient civilizations in North America and the Great Lakes region.
They do this to help educate the general public and encourage further study by both amateur and professional scholars.
AAPS is based in Skandia, Michigan and every year they host an absolutely fascinating Conference on Ancient America, which takes place in Harris, Michigan, about 15mins west of Escanaba in the Upper Peninsula.
